Rain

Life overflows with change.  It seems that each time I finally feel settled, another change is just around the corner.

As someone with a fairly steady personality, I crave consistency.  Change disorients me and big changes tend to pull the rug out from underneath me.  I wrote "Rain" when the Lord led Justin and I to move to Dallas. Grieving the loss of familiarity, I remember staring out the window at a beautiful sunny day, wishing that it would rain. I wished for rain because I felt as though it was raining inside my heart.

You're Here

As I've grown in my faith and as the Lord has challenged me, I've become more and more sensitive to the fallen state of the world that we live in. In fact, there are some things that affect me so deeply that I find I need solitude, just to process my resulting emotions.

"You're Here" was written during one of these times of solitude and prayer. I sought, and still seek to understand how I'm to respond to a world that is in despair. In the midst of that, I plead with the Lord to remind me that He is here, that He is real, that He is close.

Hallelujah

Our God is truly amazing. So much so that I often struggle to find words to express Him or the gratefulness I feel for what He's done for me.  "Hallelujah" was written because, in that moment, it was truly the only thing that I knew to say. I just wanted to praise Him.
